It's Halloween! Are you ready?

We don't do much for Halloween since I no longer have little trick-or-treaters. But I did pick up some candy yesterday. We live on a quiet cul-de-sac and don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters on good nights, but today it is rainy so we may get NONE! I may have an extended period of quiet which I can use to scrap! So maybe I will dig out those vintage Halloween photos I have laying in a box and get some pages done. And I'll also have to download some kits to play with! Here are a couple from Silvia's store.

I want to show you a sweet baby boy layout I found. Of course the baby is adorable! But I also love the dotted swiss embossing and the way the paper is split and then laced together with the pretty ribbon. I also like the ruffled border.

Layout: Dad's Family

I found a layout today that really moved me. My eye was first attracted to the beautiful folded ribbon, and I love the old photos in the metallic frames. But when I read the comments pointing out that none of these people are no longer with us, it really gave me pause. How bittersweet! And what a wonderful reminder of the importance of taking and preserving those prescious family photos!

Layout: Guard Dog?

The title of this one caught my eye, because it reminds me a beagle we had who liked to pretend he was a guard dog. If he heard a noise, he'd give a quiet little growl as if to say 'Wake up, guys! I heard a noise but I don't want the bad guy to get me!'

I love all the texture in this layout, and the embossing on the paper. I also like the bright colors and the wavy frames. The dog posed so pretty for the photos!

Layout: Baptism Dress

Little Prince George was baptized today. I enjoyed all the photos of the happy family. I especially enjoyed the beautiful baptism gown with the detailed embroidery. Gorgeous! I searched the gallery for baptism layouts and found a special one. I love the embroidery on this dress, and the needle and thread elements. I also like the lacy glittered frame! And what a cute story to tell later!

Around The World: September/October

I'm popping in to remind you about Silvia's Around the World challenge at Digitals. This is a two month challenge, and ends October 31st, so you still have plenty of time to get a layout done for this one! This time Silvia is asking you to do a layout about frustration and what your outlet is for dealing with your frustration. And she would like to see lots of journaling, so no photo required!

Here is one of the layouts created for this challenge. I like the soothing tones of brown and green used in this one. And how clever she was to use brag book pages as elements. Great idea for a short cut to get some pages done quickly!
