The kit I want to show you today is another that is a bit more elegant. While Saison de Joie does have reds and greens, they are not the traditional brights shades, and the kit also has other 'winter' shades of blue and white. There is also lots of glitter and bling! I think this kit is perfect for scrapping your New Years celebration!

This layout features a photo in front of the Christmas tree but it could just as easily be a photo of your and your loved ones clinking the new year in at midnight! I love all the glitter and the rays and ric rac emanating from the center of the page. It makes me feel very festive!

Are Ready for Thanksgiving?

Here in the US we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. We start the week shopping (I still have to get my turkey!), we cook, we eat, and then we shop again! Things seems so much less hectic during the Holiday season if I can get some of my shopping done early. I thought it might be helpful to get some scrapbook kits lined up so that I will be already to scrap those Thanksgiving photos. So for the next few days, I'm going to show you what I found.

I found a layout today that really moved me. My eye was first attracted to the beautiful folded ribbon, and I love the old photos in the metallic frames. But when I read the comments pointing out that none of these people are no longer with us, it really gave me pause. How bittersweet! And what a wonderful reminder of the importance of taking and preserving those prescious family photos!

I am intrigued by storms. I've often thought if I'd known it was a career option, I'd have become a storm chaser. Of course, chances are, if I were ever REALLY caught in a severe storm, my attraction to storms would be over! But from a distance they are quite a site. That's why this layout caught my eye. The tall thin photo of the funnel cloud is amazing. And the destruction is also amazing....and not in a good way! But I do like how the photos are arranged on the page.
