My Folks, 1978

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!  Just think, many of us will be celebrating Valentine's Day in one short week - didn't we just celebrate New Year's Day a couple of days ago?  My how time flies!

Today let's look at another wonderful layout using Silver Serenade.  This one's by The 51 Mom, and it's called My Folks, 1978:

Judith has matched the colors in her photo and the color in her main background paper perfectly, and the way she's extended the right-hand photo over into the gray gives it a nice continuity that really leads my eye into the pictures.  The rest of her paper stack is perfect for the wonderful cluster she has built and for the messy mats behind the photos. Her cluster is gorgeous, oh how I wish I had that clustering gene, LOL!  Isn't it great, too, to see her wonderful vintage photos?  I know for me, in photos like this, I enjoy looking not only at the faces, but remembering the clothing, the furniture and knick-knacks around the room - sometimes those are more sentimental than even the pictures, I wonder if Judith can relate?

You can get Silver Serenade, along with its extra embossed papers, here:

So check out your pictures, see if you have room for a beautiful Silver Serenade!

Holmberg

Good morning friends!  Today we are going to look at a layout using Silvia's Silver Serenade kit - it's called Hamburg by Tant Eva:

This is truly one of those layouts that my hand just wants to reach out and touch, it has such a special 3D appearance, the way she's shadowed her cluster, the photos, and the vines of flowers up the right side.  That is truly a great scrapping talent in my opinion, to be able to make a layout look that "touchable."  And her cluster is truly magnificent!  She's used so many of the beautiful flowers, ribbons and butterflies that Silvia is famous for and are included in this kit.  The muted colors of the layout make the pictures really stand out. I also think the way the title is placed so that some of it is just barely behind the elements adds to its appearance of realism.  Eva created this layout for the Cluster Challenge at Gotta Pixel - she does an amazing job with clustering in many of her layouts.

I also have to comment on the photos - it's so great to see the two photos of her family side by side to compare yesterday and today.  And it's a perfect example of how vintage photos were colored, and the bright colors we have in today's photos.  I am sure this is a layout that will be very much enjoyed.

Embroidered Flowers

Hi friends!  Well, the superstar layouts from Embroidered Dreams just keep on coming - today we are going to look at a layout by Glitter Queen called Embroidered Flowers:

There are almost 2 layouts shown here, the wonderful way she did the background, then the picture with the cluster in the bottom left corner - and of course it's the beautiful Lily who's the subject of her photos.  That gorgeous gold-on-cream background paper comes straight out of the kit, isn't that just to-die-for?  And Glitter Queen has used the blank spot on the paper in such a great fashion by blending in a larger copy of her photo.  I love the clusters anchored by the paper strips along the 3 edges, and the way she's cropped her photo into a circle makes the layout flow so beautifully.

There are several add-ons in this line, including the main kit, solid papers and overlay, and the embellished alpha.  You can get them separately, or also in a bundle - see them all here:

Dreams

Hi scrapping friends!  Today we are going to look at another layout from Embroidered Dreams - this kit is just full of wonderful potential!  The layout is called Dreams, and it's by Jean Ann:

This is a layout that I would never have imagined!  The monochromatic coloring is just outstanding to highlight the wonderful out-of-bounds extraction of this dreaming young lady.  I don't usually do layouts in all one color like this, but this one is definitely going in my favorites!  The background paper, ribbons, flowers, all just work in a wonderful cohesive fashion to make this elegant layout one that will certainly be treasured.  I also love how Jean Ann has slightly angled the frame, adding even more interest here.

There are several add-ons in this line, including the main kit, solid papers and overlay (and that overlay is TO DIE FOR!), and the embellished alpha.  You can get them separately, or also in a bundle - see them all here:

Recital

Good morning - it's actually still morning today, LOL!  Today we have another layout using Embroidered Dreams - this one is a stunner by Terry F called Recital:

Isn't this amazing?  When you look at the overall layout, it has a vintage feel as well as a sense of elegance - the coloring of the pictures, the girls' dresses, and the gorgeous papers and elements of the kit bring this out.  I love the beveled look of the purple paper, that is a great touch.  And of course the pictures are definitely the star of this show, along with Terry's well-written journaling that brings us in on the complete story.  Terry's clusters, using the absolutely gorgeous elements from Embroidered Dreams, are really spectacular - I just can't say enough about the wonderful flowers and ribbons and such that Silvia has given us to create with here.  I really love this layout!

I have to just add that this layout really brings out the feel of how special recitals are - from 1958 until today.  We also enjoyed wonderful recitals just a few years ago with my daughter, and they were the same sort of special occasion that Terry is showing us here.  I really hope this is a tradition that continues and does not get overshadowed with today's modern ways of life.

Me in 1968

I  have to wish you a good afternoon today - my day is kind of "upside down," so I'm very late in getting this entry posted!

Here is a beautiful layout done by Tant Eva using Embroidered Dreams - it's called Me in 1968:

The title says it all as far as who this little dumpling is - what an adorable baby you were, Eva!  And the layout she has created is the perfect setting for these beautiful eyes to look out of!  She's used the flowered overlay border that I absolutely love from the add-on for this kit - I think it gives the layout a very happy and festive appearance.  Eva's clustering is always amazing, and it certainly is amazing here - I really like the string elements she has sticking out at the top and right edges of the cluster.  Great job Eva, thank you for sharing this with us!
