Layout Share: I Love You

Here is another great layout from Silvia's gallery! I love the way the papers are stacked, and the embossing to from the border. I also love the way the paper strips are layered beneath that cute photo. And the kit colors complement the photo perfectly!

I Love You by GlitterQueen
But what I really love is that this layout was created with My Hero kit. When you see this kit, your first reaction is that is it a 'boy' kit, made for the men in your life. But I love that GlitterQueen thought 'outside the box' to create this layout!

You can pick My Hero up at any of Silvia's stores!

My Hero

This weekend we will be celebrating Father's Day. In the US, Father's Day is observed on the third Sunday in June. While Father's Day was first celebrated in 1910 in Spokane, Washington, it did not catch on nearly as quickly as Mother's Day. President Woodrow Wilson attempted to make teh holiday official as early as 1916, but Congress resisted. Although the holiday was celebrated informally by many through the years, it was not until 1972 when Richard Nixon signed a bill designating Father's Day as a permanent holiday to be celebrated the third Sunday in June!

To learn more about Father's Day and how it is celebrated around the world, you can visit the Wikipedia page here

Silvia has the perfect kit to scrap about the fathers in your life, and you can use it to make some beautiful layouts. Here is one example.
