Around The World in August

Today I want to remind you that Silvia is hosting her Around the World challenge at Digitals. The challenge this month is to scrap about a time you've been through a major change in your life. There are a lot of interesting stories, so be sure to browse the thread!

Here's one layout from the challenge! The journaling tells a story of resilience and I love how it is placed on the page with the beautiful border around the jouranling. I also like the pink gingham and the pretty silk bow at the top. The colors are lovely!

I am NOT a big fan of PURPLE! I don't wear much purple, I don't buy much purple, and I don't much scrap with purple. And yet, if I see a kit with purples I have to have it! (kit collector??) And when I see a layout with purple, my eye can't seem to move away from it!

Here is just one example of a purple layout that caught my eye and wouldn't let go! I LOVE all the purple and all the butterflies! Wow! And the texture in the background paper is amazing! Of course, I can't say enough about that adorable smile!

I just found an adorable layout in the gallery. I love the sweet photo of daddy and daughter! And the colors are perfect for these vintage photos! The curvy cut of the border softens the whole layout.

Here is another great layout from Silvia's gallery! I love the way the papers are stacked, and the embossing to from the border. I also love the way the paper strips are layered beneath that cute photo. And the kit colors complement the photo perfectly!

Layout Share: Are You My Lunch?

I've got another fantastic layout to show you today! Look at the swirling pattern in the background paper. I sometimes find it difficult to work with such a strong pattern as my background, but NMarti did a wonderful job here. I love the paper pieces that form the rays! And looking at the jaws of this powerful creature, you wouldn't expect elements like lace and flowers as complements, but they work beautifully here!
